Drake, ’83 BSc(Eng), was an electrical engineering student who reportedly always wore a Hawaiian shirt while working towards his degree — a feat some say took 10 years. He was also fond of the game of mini-putt so in his honour the electrical engineering club plays mini-putt while wearing Hawaiian shirts during what they call “Steve Drake Day.” (Middle) Pembina House Committee, 1971–72. The propeller commemorates the building’s use by the military in WWII. (Bottom) Students at St. Joseph’s College in 2006 hang hockey jerseys out their windows in tribute to former resident Dean Mortensen, who disappeared in January 1992. The fate of Mortensen, who played on the St. Joseph’s Rangers intramural hockey team, has never been determined.
