GRADUATE CAREER-READY AND ENJOY THE JOURNEY!

At the University of Regina, taking part in hands-on learning and real-world work experience is part of the student journey. The Centre for Experiential and Service Learning is the central hub of learning and experience, and is designed to help you reach your goals by connecting you with intentional career exploration and related work experience. We commit to providing you with valuable tools and opportunities to ensure that you graduate ready to jump into the career of your dreams. What’s more, our Co-operative Education program is celebrating its 55th anniversary this year. We were the first to offer a Co-op program in Western Canada and we are still the best!

Learn by doing:

• Co-operative Education programs

• Internships, practicums, and fieldwork

• In-class experiential learning (labs, seminars, and case studies)

• Undergraduate research

• Service learning

• Study abroad

Develop career skills:

• Job shadowing

• Workshops on resumé writing, job searching, and interview preparation

• One-on-one resumé review

• Mock interviews

• Employer connections

At the University of Regina our goal is that all students will take part in at least one experiential learning opportunity before they graduate.

Volunteer Centre

Our student-operated Volunteer Centre will help you become a well-trained, well-rounded student volunteer that community partners can depend on. We believe in creating communityminded citizens, which is why we’re the city hub for volunteer opportunities — giving you the opportunity to live by our motto As One Who Serves. As an added bonus, volunteering can help you build transferable skills, and volunteer experience is essential to have on your resumé.

SHOW WHAT YOU KNOW — EARN DIGITAL BADGES

You won’t just go through the motions — you’ll critically reflect on your placements, workshops, and programs you participate in and demonstrate the skills you’ve learned from your experience. Track your progress and add to your resumé by earning digital badges in areas such as career foundations, cultural awareness, leadership, and mentorship. Badges recognize the skills you learned from the opportunities you participated in outside of the classroom.

Learn Beyond Borders

At the same cost as U of R tuition fees, you can discover more about the world — and yourself — by broadening your horizons and studying abroad. We offer:

• Semester exchange programs

• Faculty-led study tour and short-term programs

• International practicum, internship, and fieldwork placements

• Faculty-approved international conferences or consortia

Students can also apply for a number of Study Abroad Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000!
