Overall Corridor Construction Management, Tollway, Elgin O’Hare Western Access and 290/53 Ramps, DuPage & Cook Counties, Illinois The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority selected T.Y. Lin International as part of a joint venture to perform the Overall Corridor Construction Management for the new Elgin-O’Hare Western Access Toll Highway. Featuring multiple concurrent activities with demanding schedules, the $1B program includes construction of a 10-mile corridor along the Elgin O’Hare Expressway and a six-mile corridor for the new O’Hare Western Access. The firm is also providing construction inspection services for the new interchange with I-290, which includes construction of two tri-level flyover ramps.
Program Management Services for the 2005-Present Citywide Construction Engineering Services, Chicago, Illinois Since 2005, T.Y. Lin International has been providing citywide Program Management Engineering Services for the City of Chicago Department of Transportation, a $66M annual program. The firm oversees program and construction management for street and alley resurfacing, speed hump installation, and sidewalk, curb, and gutter replacements performed by City labor forces.
Chicago Department of Transportation Bicycle Program Management, Chicago, Illinois A program management partner of the City of Chicago’s Bicycle Program since 1997, T.Y. Lin International provides planning, design, engineering, construction services, and in-house staff support for the ongoing expansion of Chicago’s 230-mile network of on-street bike lanes, shared lanes, and neighborhood greenways.
California High-Speed Rail Program Management Oversight, Statewide, California T.Y. Lin International was selected by the California High-Speed Rail Authority for the Program Management Oversight of the statewide intercity High-Speed Rail System. The firm’s comprehensive, multi-disciplined team directed individual project delivery teams for eight rail segments and advised the California High-Speed Rail Authority on maintaining the program schedule, budget, and specifications.
Chicago Department of Water Management, Sewer Lining Program Manager, Chicago, Illinois T.Y. Lin International has provided Construction Management Services to the Chicago Department of Water Management under a contract for various sewer improvement projects for 20 years. In 2015, CDWM selected the firm to manage the $70M Sewer Main Lining and Sewer Structure Rehabilitation Programs which call for the lining of 50-60 miles of sewer mains and catch basin outlets, 2,000-3,000 sewer structures, and up to 12,000 other related structures each year.
Program Management Services for New South Runway and Terminal 4 Expansion Owner’s Representative Services, Fort LauderdaleHollywood International Airport, Florida T.Y. Lin International was on the team selected to provide Program Management services for the new South Runway and Terminal 4 Expansion. The $791M project included the new South Runway, along with adjacent taxiways, high-speed exits, north/south runway connector and holding pad, and the extensive remodeling and expansion of Terminal 4. The firm was responsible for oversight and coordination of the various design and construction firms involved in the project.
Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project, San Diego, California T.Y. Lin International is prime consultant for the team providing Project Management Consultant services and design reviews for an 11-mile extension of the San Diego Trolley system. The $2.3B project includes over 4 miles of elevated guideway and structures, 9 stations, parking structure, traction power substations, and systems/operational improvements along an existing segment. The firm is also assisting the San Diego Association of Governments in contracting for construction (CM/GC, negotiated GMP).
