Self-analytical Evaluation

When I was first Introduced to journalism, I didn't know much about it, nor did I really have any interest In the subject overall. But that all changed last summer. My mom works as a professional photographer, taking class photos, wedding pictures, and even senior photos! Her job has always been Interesting for me, I've just never had the chance to learn about It, such as camera angles, lighting, background, ect. When I was given the opportunity to take this class, I jumped right on It. I didn’t know If It was gonna be difficult or easy, I just knew that It was a subject that Interested me. When school started, I was very excited to just hop right In and get to work on the yearbook, but then I realized that there was so much more to It. I had to learn the skills to be able to DO the yearbook. This Included learning about not only tricks involving the subject, but social skills as well, like working well with others, communication, and most importantly, staying on task. As the months went on my confidence grew, I was missing a few assignments, but was doing my best to maintain a decent grade In the class. Taking photos when the opportunity arises, along with notes and paragraphs. One day, I was assigned to a group to work on some notes on google slides. I did not know anyone there, and I was honestly a bit nervous. But this Is why this class really did help me, even If It's not a journalism related thing, I was able to come out of my shell more, work on my social skills, and even make a few friends that I couldn't even Imagine happening. Together we completed the notes assignment, and did really well. It taught me that even though you may feel scared or anxious about meeting new people, In the end you have to complete the assignment, no matter what the cost, so just be yourself! Who knows, you may make a few friends like me! These aren't only skills you will use
