FOLLOWING THE success of its first micro music festival in June, Mavis’s Kitchen will host another exciting Ibiza & The Mountain Spring Edition this Saturday, September 15. The event has attracted the highly acclaimed electronic artist Jamie Porteous (formerly Groove Armada) who will be mixing up tunes during the event which runs from 1pm to 9pm. Mavis’s Kitchen marketing manager Kristal Smith said the iconic local business was keen to present the Spring Edition of Ibiza & The Mountain. “We’re running longer into the evening this time with DJ, drums, sax and a new vocalist,” she said. “We also welcome back an impressive new electronic act brought together by producer, artist, DJ and Ibiza global radio presenter Jamie Porteous.” Kristal said Jamie is back home in Australia after 10 years in Ibiza after building a reputation as a highly regarded music producer. Jamie has hand selected a mix of artists to complement his Balearic beats in the outdoor setting. Adana Black is the vocalist and “sheJ” Sheila Finke the percussionist together with the

digital sounds will entertain visitors from late lunch into the evening. “The name of Jamie’s new festival act is Scottish Voodoo and comprises of talented musicians with a collective resume listing impressive involvement in groups like - Yothu Yindi, Ladyhawke, Brian Ferry, Duran Duran, Groove Armada and Snoop Dog,” she said. “Together with the Mavis’s event team, we have created an eight-hour long afternoon set featuring live music along with street food, pop up bars and a bonfire finish. “This is our take on a micro festival offering nature, great music and a fun mix of people.” Tickets are $60 for Adults and $30 for Kids Tickets include entry to the event, music and three plates of street food from the Mavis’s offering of tacos, paella and lamb sliders. Return transfers are available for this event - with Mt Warning Tours offering pick up and returns from Murwillumbah $10, Tweed Heads $15 and Currumbin Creek Road $20 (prices are return per adult) Available to purchase from the pop-up bars includes drinks from Husk Distillers/Ink Gin will be present as will Stone & Wood.
