The event was put together by an amazing team of locals led by founder Steve Ashburn, Janine Pollard and AJ Pitts.

The local ladies in team Beaumont Tiles took out the Salty Girls Surf School Women’s final.

Timmy Chalmers’ 9.67 (out of ten) wave saw his team, Cabarita Beach Bowls and Sports Club, take the men’s final win.

“I was just in the right places at the right time, super lucky at my home break and I just felt everything aligned and it just worked out,” Timmy said.

“It was such a fun day. I was just talking to a mate who doesn’t surf and he said this is the best day of the Caba calendar; that was really cool to hear.
