Fast And Furious Murbah

THE FIRST Motorkhana for 2023 presented by the Murwillumbah Sporting Car Club, sponsored by Southern Cross Credit Union and IGA Tweed Valley, was a massive hit with local drivers on Sunday, March 19.

Murwillumbah Showgrounds once again provided an outstanding short course with plenty of fast and furious drivers eager to test their skills.

Local hotshot Jude Livermore has once again topped the junior class in his trusty Toyota Starlet setting a blistering time at just under one minute.


In second place, in the junior category, was the skillful local driver Phoebe Sykes in a loaned WRX.
Phoebe continues to give other drivers a run for their money, including many of the seniors, coming in only a frac - tion of a second behind Jude.
In third place, by a whisker, was Zane Hall in the club Suburu Impreza displaying some outstanding skills behind the wheel.
In the adult class, there were some of the fastest laps set in the history of the Motorkhana, including by local legend and IGA owner Brett Bugg who set a blistering pace in his WRX of under a minute.
In second place for the adults was Luke Behan in another WRX setting a great time and only a fraction behind Brett.
In third place, for the adults, was Phoebe Sykes who took on the adult class and again showed some great skill and control in a member’s WRX.
