Tweed Valley Hospital

Our $700 million state-of-the-art facility will open this year, with FREE carparking for staff, patients, and visitors

An additional $2.5 million has been allocated for a Health Hub on the hospital site which will deliver dedicated training facilities and pave the way for the Tweed’s frontline health services in the future.

The hospital will feature two new major services – an interventional cardiology service and an integrated cancer care service with radiotherapy and PET-CT.

These services will be a game-changer for our community, providing treatment locally to ensure up to 5,000 people no longer have to travel outside the region to access life-saving treatments.

New Kingscliff Ambulance Station

The new Kingscliff Ambulance Station will be co-located on the Tweed Valley Hospital site, with a builder to be appointed in the coming weeks.

The station will be built near the Turnock Street/Cudgen Road roundabout, with construction expected to be completed later this year.

The new purpose-built Ambulance Station will:

Optimise paramedic response times and support critical lifesaving care,

Provide a better working environment for local paramedics, and; Better meet the current and future demand for emergency medical care for residents of the region.

The station will have internal parking for up to eight emergency ambulance vehicles including an internal wash bay, administration and office areas, staff amenities, logistics and storage areas, and staff parking.

Kingscliff Fire Station

The Tweed area is better protected following the opening of our brand new $4.7 million station.

The two-storey station, on the existing Marine Parade site, includes a large dual-vehicle engine bay, dedicated ‘clean firefighter’ zones to guard against carcinogen contamination, and separate male and female amenities.

The station provides the 18 on-call firefighters with fit-for-purpose facilities, including dedicated spaces for training and living.

This station gives our firefighters the facilities and resources they need to keep our community stronger and safer in future emergencies.

Delivering for Tweed

More than $1 billion dollars in funding has been delivered to community projects.

From funding a community garden for St Marks Anglican Church at Pottsville to construction of a baseball diamond at Tweed Heads, Geoff has listened to his community.
