log line n the near future, Jamie, a virtual reality addict, has built himself a second life that he loves. But after a real world altercation with co-worker Ellie, he puts everything he has worked towards at risk.
SYNOPSIS Sci-Fi-drama ‘VR’ is an exploration of the near future and potential advancements in virtual reality technology. Drifting between the real and the virtual, VR explores the complications of living a second life through technology, as we see a young man who thinks he has it all in the virtual world, make an unsuspecting enemy in real life, with could have serious consequences.
DIRECTORS STATEMENT VR is a science-fiction film that is born out of a passion for science, technology and the future. With VR, we wanted to create a film that displayed our passion for these things, but most importantly, create a world in which we could all see ourselves living in in the very near future. As the director of VR I can say that it has been a huge challenge making this film under the budget and time constraints, and that without the hard work of the whole of the team this film would never have been completed.

Reynold considers himself a cinematographer/ director, specialising in music video production. Having worked on a variety of different productions his managed to build up his skill set, consisting of things his learnt from different projects. As he is coming to the end of his studies, Reynold hopes to continue to build his profile in the urban music industry as a director and hopes to achieve success in the future.
lauramobbs / producer Laura’s interest in film started at an early age as she, like most children, wanted to be an actress. However, this dream was quickly abolished in her teenage years as working behind the camera opened up a whole new world for her, Laura realised that her passion lay in the filmmaking process. Laura continues to grow as a professional and develop her skills in numerous areas of media.

huang yichuan / sound Yichuan Huang is a Media Production student at Coventry University who is looking to specialise in cinematography. Although working for the sound crew on VR, his real passion lies within cinematography, and is compelled by the ability of story telling. Yichuan has worked on numerous short film production sets and is dedicated to finding a unique camera language which will benefit the art of story telling.
caitlin young / sound At a young age Caitlin found her passion for the art of visual storytelling, and as she learnt more about the craft she discovered that her real passion was as an editor, as she began to work on short films, documentaries and TV she developed this craft and continues to do so through her studies at Coventry University, with the hope of paving the way to a career in post production as a film editor.
charley fLetcher/sound Charley Fletcher is a passionate and creative second year Media Production student looking to continue building her experience, networking and sharing her creativity. After editing for six years she is developing her Producing skills and wants to tell new and interesting stories through her films. Charley worked on the sound crew for the film and hopes to help on many more films in the future.

tom loone as j a m i e For me, there’s no greater art form out there than film, it has the power to move us and tell us things about ourselves that we don’t even know. I’ve been acting on and off all my life, appearing in independent short films, theatre and doing extra work and I don’t intend to stop. Working with Alex and his crew on this project was a revelatory acting experience. I love it, and I hope I still get to do it, for a very very long time.

Joanne trained at Bath Spa University on their BA (Hons) Acting degree programme. She graduated in July 2014 after three years of intense training. Since graduating, Joanne, has entered the professional industry, performing at the ExCeL Centre in London and taking on the lead role in a short film called Another Life. She is currently involved in a play called kill-colleaguez.com.
tom hendryk as j a m i e 2 . 0 Tom studied at the Birmingham School of Acting and he is also a qualified Polish Folk Dance Instructor. His recent credits are; Dunsinane with the RSC and National Theatre of Scotland. Threepenny Opera, A Cry From Heaven, Lover and Therese Raquin. He is also currently playing a principle role in the film ‘The Men of Waterloo’ directed by Hamish Macleod. He is very excited to be working on the production of VR.
sophie ayers as e m i l y Sophie studied at Bird College of Dance, Music & Theatre Performance. She has a passion for performing in stage productions, and has performed in the well known We Will Rock You and also performed in Loserville. Sophie is looking to expand her talents by also acting in small film productions and really enjoyed the experience she gained by starring in VR and plans to act in more short films.
