TURTLE BAY SURFBOARDS Established 1985 For the last 25 years, all our surfboards have been made to the highest standards and specifications possible. This experience enables us to offer these epoxy surfboards with total confidence. Our surfboards are manufactured with a focus on the famed Seabase standards of quality and durability, but also deliver great value for money for all surfers, whether you’re just starting out or looking to add a new board to your quiver. Turtle Bay started out with a custom shaped EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) blank. This foam core is exceptionally light weight, and represents a very small portion of the boards final weight. The benefit of using such a light weight foam is that we can add further layers of fibreglass to the boards exterior, which gives a much stronger surface, far more resistant to dings and dents than traditional foam and glass boards. Our boards are hand finished with a minimum of two layers of fibreglass on each side, the deck of the board receives three layers. Both sides are sealed with a tough high gloss protective coating. The bottom of the board is finished with a lighter mix of two six ounce layers

4

The boards are finished in a similar method to traditional boards, with high modulus epoxy resin saturated fibreglass, leaving a seamless finish, unlike that of factory produced “pop out” boards.
