Just north of the iconic main store of L.L. Bean in Freeport, you will find one of Maine’s great treasures, the Bath-Brunswick region. Though the region is named for it’s two largest communities, the region itself encompasses 16 communities in total and together they have lots for visitors to see and do. It begins in Brunswick, the largest community, and home to Bowdoin College, Maine State Music Theater and Brunswick Landing- which is a former Naval Air Station that has been converted into a thriving business center for innovation with over 100 businesses and 1,800 employees. Notoriously, downtown Brunswick has one of the largest and most utilized green spaces in the state, with the Brunswick Mall, which is anchored on one end by a large wooden gazebo which hosts weekly concerts in the summer and dozens of community events annually. Add to that over 30 restaurants on Maine Street alone highlighting no less than 16 ethnic cuisines, and you have found something for everyone. Bath on the other hand is quintessential historic downtown, with buildings and a layout that echo the history of this shipbuilding city. Still an active waterfront and home to General Dynamics/Bath Iron Works, Navy-commissioned Zumwalt Class destroyers are being built everyday in their massive facility. Bath is also home to
