Ashley Del Valle was raised by hard working and supportive parents that always made education a priority and dreams a possibility. They never failed to be at every student teacher conference, Tae Kwon Do tournament, and awards ceremony. As the eldest of five siblings, she hopes that she is setting a good example for the rest of her brother and sisters. Ashley states, “I hope they stay focused and keep trying hard in school. The best advice I can give to them or any other student is to stay involved because it keeps your mind open to many possibilities the world has to offer.” Born at the University of Davis while her father attended school, Ashley Del Valle will be continuing the legacy and attending the University of California-Davis this fall. She is entering with a major declared in Biological Sciences, with the hopes of entering medical school and one day becoming a doctor. She looks forward to joining an MMA club, studying abroad in Europe, volunteering with an environmentalist organization, and enjoying all college life has to offer.

Dania Alejandra Gudino

Helen Lee is the 2015 Central Valley High School class valedictorian.

Dania Gudino was born in Jalisco, Mexico. She came to the United States at the age of four. She moved to the Valley in 2001 with the hopes of one day obtaining the education and success her parents were unable to obtain. She had to learn a new language and adjust to the new country. “It was all worth it because that is the experience that has led me to where I am today,” she said. Dania was involved California Scholarship Federation, National Honor Society, and Spanish Club. Dania’s parents were unable to finish their education which encourages her to continue hers and make them proud. She has two brothers who attend Westport Elementary and Blaker Kinser, and she hopes to set an example for them as she will be the first in her family to attend college; she will be attending U.C. Davis. “Even though this thought of entering college is scary and new, it is also filled with happiness and excitement.”
