Gain a new skill while creating the perfect home accessory. Learn procedures, equipment, materials, and safety relevant to upholstery as you construct and cover a custom footstool. You supply fabric but it is not required for the first night of class; other supplies are provided.

Required skill/experience: Some sewing experience. Want to revive your current accessory pieces? Walk away knowing appropriate skills and safety relevant to upholstery. Required skill/experience: Some sewing experience. Are you ready to spruce up your car, truck, or boat? Learn relevant procedures, equipment, materials, and safety for upholstery. SERVSAFE® STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE: Registration must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the class start date to allow the required time to study your book. Enroll in-person or online and pick up your book/test answer sheet at the Client Service Center, 3638 S. Memorial Drive, at least two weeks in advance of the class. Classes are taught in English; however, the ServSafe® test is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Canadian French, and large print. You must indicate your test language preference at the time of enrollment so the appropriate test can be ordered for you.

ServSafe®, a national certification, meets the requirements of the Tulsa Health Department.

Mr. Yip has a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management and a master’s in business administration. He has many years of teaching experience, an array of state and national awards, and solid restaurant management skills. As a previous Tulsa restaurant owner, Mr. Yip shares his vast skills and experiences with his students, successfully helping them pass the National ServSafe® exam.

Basic Nutrition & MNT

Required skill/experience: Must be employed in non-commercial foodservice with third-party oversight.

Provides instruction on basic nutrition with an overview of Medical Nutrition Therapy Interventions. As part of the program requirements, instruction is provided by a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). The required textbook must be purchased online from the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) before the start of class.

Private Security - Phase IV (Firearms)

Prerequisite: CLEET-3396.

Required skill/experience: Successfully completed Phase I/II or Phase I/III prior to enrollment, minimum age 21 years, and pass the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) test. Required training criteria for Armed Security and/or Armed Private Investigator Licensing. Instruction includes weapon nomenclature and inspection, shooting fundamentals, and safety per CLEET standards. Training will include 12-hours of classroom learning and 20-hours of on-range instruction and qualifying exercises. Successful completers will have 100% attendance, score 85% or better on written tests, pass all CLEET qualifications on-range, and pass the CLEET Phase IV testing to be eligible for making an application for licensing. You will be required to supply personal protective equipment, weapon, belt, holster, 3 magazines, and 400-450 rounds of NEW ammunition. Background check and fingerprints required. Motorcycle Basic Ridercourse

Prerequisite: MCPP-3379.

Classroom and on-cycle instruction under controlled range conditions using Motorcycle Training Safety Center motorcycles. MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) accredited course. Practice skills of effective motorcycle operation, braking, obstacle avoidance, strategies for critical conditions, protective gear, types of motorcycles, inspection, and care. Successful completers of both riding and written tests receive an insurance discount plus a waiver for the Oklahoma DMV test’s riding and driving portion. A Full Refund will be issued if the course is canceled by Tulsa Tech or if a student drops the day prior to the class start date. Call (918) 828-5000 to drop or transfer.

Failure to attend does not constitute a drop. Credit card payment refunds are issued to the appropriate credit card account. However, refunds for all other forms of payment are issued in the form of a check that is mailed to the current address and may require up to 3 weeks to process. No refunds for books.

Classes more than 16 hours

One hundred percent (100%) of tuition and fees will be refunded for courses of more than 16 hours, if dropped on or before the second scheduled meeting date. Books and fees are non-refundable unless student drops more than two (2) hours prior to start of first scheduled class meeting.

Classes 16 hours or less

One hundred percent (100%) of tuition and fees will be refunded, for courses of 16 hours or less, if dropped before the first scheduled meeting date.

Online Courses

One hundred percent (100%) of tuition will be refunded for online courses, if dropped on or before the seventh day after the scheduled course start date. Books and fees are non-refundable.
