TUFF STEEL OUTBACK TRAYS are welded frame trays avoiding relying on bolts and plastics for key components.

At the heart of the TUFF STEEL OUTBACK Tray is the frame with 3mm thick 75x50mm RHS chassis rails for steel. I was travelling at midnight with our two children in our vehicle when a black steer ran across the road in front of us. It was a scary moment and I remembered not to swerve and possibly lose control of the vehicle. I hit the steer square-on and after checking that everybody was okay, jumped out to see if we could keep going. Our TUFF five post bullbar and rails had absorbed much of the impact so we were still able to continue travelling the remaining 100km to get home. I am convinced the TUFF bullbar and rails saved the vehicle from being written off and prevented possible injuries for us. Steel is the material of choice for many TUFF clients and our quality steel and heavy duty construction gives you the confidence to go anywhere at anytime knowing you have the best vehicle protection available.

Steel is recommended for vehicles traveling in areas with a higher risk of animal strikes.

TUFF alloy bullbars have performed as well as steel bars in independent impact tests thanks to the heavy-duty materials and construction we use.

Alloy bullbars are recommended for some vehicles, such as the Landcruiser 200 Series, due to the material’s weight saving properties.

To compliment your bullbar and protect the side of your vehicle, add our much coveted single or double brushrails. Our brushrails come with incorporated sidesteps, offering the maximum strength to protect your investment from a side-impact.

SIDESTEPS

These extra wide steps can not only protect against side-impacts but can also deflect vegetation away from your vehicle. Our steps also have a lip to provide a better finish under the door sill while repelling dirt and mud. TUFF side steps can be purchased separately for most makes and models.

SERIOUS ABOUT SAFETY

To ensure a TUFF Bullbar properly serves its purpose, the design and engineering team at TUFF take a number of factors into consideration, such as; crush rate, air bag deployment, reflection, profile, airflow and accessory fitment to name a few. The shape and dimensions of a bullbar strongly influence the degree of protection offered to other road users too. TUFF Bullbars follow the profile of the vehicle and when fitting the bullbar, we ensure that the width of the vehicle is not exceeded. After the bullbar has been fitted you can be assured that TUFF Bullbars comply with the Australian Standard Guidelines and relevant Australian Design Rules (ADR’s).

ADR COMPLIANT

The front face of a TUFF Bullbar has been carefully designed to ensure that it does not lean outward from the vehicle. Aerial tabs and driving light mounts are fixed to the bullbar in a manner that prevents them from becoming dangerous projections. All accessory fixtures are positioned on the rear of all TUFF Bullbars.

The ends of TUFF Bullbars are curved to wrap around the front of the vehicle. Maxiumum vehicle width is not exceeded. The overall height of a TUFF Bullbar has been designed to be practical and protective. Bars extending too high over the bonnet are not permitted.

AIR BAG COMPATIBLE

A bullbar mounting system is the most important part of any design, and as every vehicle is different, our TUFF heavy duty steel mounting systems are designed specifically to suit the vehicles chassis and the bullbar bolting onto it.

All TUFF mounts are cut from 8-10mm steel plate and are designed and independently tested to ensure they are compatible with the vehicles standard safety equipment, without compromising the strength and performance of the bullbar. TUFF Bullbars meet the requirements of ADR 69/00 (Vehicle Frontal Protection System Impact Test - Air Bag) and Compatibility Certificates are available on request.

Research conducted by insurance companies and the 4WD industry show that the cost of repairing vehicles due to animal-related collisions, run into the millions of dollars across Australia annually. Therefore, protecting your investment with a TUFF Bullbar provides you with the ULTIMATE protection for you and your family, and assists with reducing insurance claims and premiums.

The fitment of TUFF products cannot affect your new car warranty. If a dealer implies that it will affect your warranty, please ask them to put it in writing as it is illegal for them to do so.
