Welcome to Mexico Central America Why Travel to Mexico Mexico has it all. One day you may be exploring ancient ruins and the next you could be relaxing on a sun-kissed beach. This is all whilst you’re sampling some of the tastiest food in Central America. Immerse yourself in the culture as you travel from colonial cities to indigenous villages, meeting the friendliest people along the way.

Our Favourite Highlights

Chichén Itzá

Oaxaca

The most iconic of Maya sites, Chichén Itzá is in the Yucatan State. The Castillo step pyramid dominates the site and is one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

For a sensory experience head to the Benito Juarez market in Oaxaca. Sample freshly-made tamales, try the local string cheese and if you dare, buy a bag of fried grasshoppers.

Palenque

Playa del Carmen

Deep in the Chiapas region, the Maya ruins of Palenque are nestled within the jungle. Climb up the stone temples, keeping an eye out for toucans and howler monkeys living in the trees.

It’s not just the sugar-white sand and warm Caribbean sea that lure people to Playa del Carmen. There are many boutique shops to explore, selling anything from artisanal chocolate to excellent folk art.
