INTRODUCTION

T

he thriving South St. Louis County region represents the interests of nearly 110,000 residents and numerous business operations. This 44-square-mile area, located just south of the bustling city of St. Louis, is home to the communities of Oakville, Mehlville and Concord. Of the three cities, Oakville is the largest with a population exceeding 55,000 residents. Mehlville is the second-largest city with just over 28,000 residents, while Concord is home to approximately 17,000 people. These communities each have strong economic and social ties to the Gateway City, while also exhibiting individual characteristics that are respective to each independent heritage.
