SEMINOLE You Gotta See It! Hanging on the wall of one of the offices in the Chamber is the original Certificate of Incorporation of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce dated March 24, 1937. This is just one piece of our history that is maintained for future generations. We are where we are because individuals in 1937 cared about Seminole and that has not changed. The names and faces may have changed, but imagine what those folks might say if they could visit Seminole today. Seminole is in many ways synonymous with tradition. It is tradition in Seminole to do the unexpected; to win when everybody thinks you’re rebuilding; to recruit the big companies when the competition are cities 10 times larger; to begin a new annual festival and have it be tremendously successful; and to undertake a Boomtown playground project and see it through to completion. Whether you are a visitor, a long-time citizen or a new arrival, you are a welcome part of this tradition. As citizens, we take pride in the fact that city leadership is constantly forward thinking. The Seminole Chamber is ecstatic that many or all of our city leaders are active members of the Chamber. Our membership consists of those who care about Seminole and want to be a part of its future. We have a group of wonderful
citizens, who are “doers” not just “observers.” These doers understand tradition, take up the mantle and never skip a beat leading Seminole into the future. After two years of wonderful nationally recognized centennial celebrations – Seminole’s in 2006 and Oklahoma’s in 2007 – Oklahoma State Tourism has used the phrase “we’re just getting started,” which implies big things are on the horizon. For the City of Seminole and the Chamber, we say “Hold on tight, It’s going to be a great ride!’’
