WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON CONCURRENT SESSIONS

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22 | 4:00-5:00 P.M.

Healing After A Tragedy

Texas Ballroom G, 2nd Floor

Shots ring out in a high school classroom. A student is critically injured. A teacher tries to intervene and is wounded. Hearing the shots, students and teachers run for cover, lock doors and prepare for the worst.

Police descend upon the campus. Media launch helicopters and send reporters. The gunman is on the run.

This shooting happened in October of 2021 at Timberview High School in Mansfield ISD.

Our team had prepared for a crisis of this magnitude. But the hypothetical was now reality. And our team faced the monumental task of guiding our community through it.
