The Symphony No. 3 may provide the finest illustration of Mahler’s musical philosophy that, “The symphony must be like the world. It must embrace everything.” Perfect music for a springtime evening or afternoon, it was composed in the summer on the shores of beautiful Lake Attersee in the mountains outside Salzburg with the sounds of nature, man and emotions. A great ode to nature!
