E & L Harness To our valued customers. We want to thank all our customers for the support you have given us in the past years and hopefully we can be of service to you in 2018. We take great pride in our stitching for a longer last and a better look. We pad our breeching seats, crowns, belly bands, back pads for more comfort to the horse. In the past fifteen years of experience, we have sold many harnesses and harness parts throughout Canada and the US. We have many customers, happy with our patterns and harness work. It is our goal to bring to you 100% satisfaction with the finest products at a good price. Eli and Lydia Shetler Open account terms are net 30 days. 2% per month service charge will be added to account balances over 30 days. There will be a $25.00 charge on any returned cheques. Harness Shop We produce  custom built deluxe show, farm, parade, pulling and driving harnesses at our workshop. All harnesses are available in dull or shiny bio and come with leather feel beta lines, unless ordered differently. We also produce harnesses made with leather by special order. Pleasure harnesses, GIG saddle, breast collar, breeching, belly bands are padded with an embossed leather look. Harnesses are available in brown underlay. Pleasure harnesses include quick release shaft loops. Hames with short tugs available to fit breast collar. We use all stainless steel hardware and bits, unless ordered differently. We will work to your requirements and needs.

New hames are made with a standard bend. Keep in mind that steel hames can be bent. Some horses need the hames bent to fit correctly. Using the right size hame is just as important as the collar. A draft style hame can be adjusted to fit 3 sizes. The standard rule is one size bigger than the collar.

Vinyl pads do not absorb moisture and help heal sores on the shoulder. With a vinyl pad you might see more sweat come out from under the pad. We feel that this is because a vinyl pad will not absorb the sweat. Replace pad as needed.

The Advantages of Using Well Fitted Collar and Hames Using a collar and hames that are well fitted allows your horse to work more freely with a load. A well fitted collar and hames spreads the load nice and even on your horse’s neck. A breast collar is lower on your horse’s shoulder and compresses the shoulder when pulling a heavy load. In most cases, collars are better suited for heavy loads. If a collar and hames are well fitted, your horse will not get sores. e & l harness 25

By tightening the top and bottom hame straps you can usually draw the collar in snug against the side of the neck. If the hames can’t be adjusted to fit properly, they should be bent to fit the horse’s shoulder. Remember, once you start using the collar it will push out and shape to the hame. It doesn’t matter how perfectly the collar fits, if the hames aren’t bent correctly. The collar will fit the hame. (Very important) e & l harness 27
