THE WORLD OF BRITISH SCHOOLS


British schools are often near a big park in the countryside. There are gardens with a lot of trees and flowers. The school building is sometimes very old and may have its own history.


A very old and famous British school is Oxford University. It is famous for its building and history, for its teachers and students. Even Harry Potter, the famous wizard, was a student in this university.


Every day students in Britain usually get up at seven o’ clock and they always go to school at half past eight in the morning.


Students usually walk to school but they sometimes catch the schoolbus!


A lollipop lady usually helps the students when they cross the road. She wears a yellow uniform and she holds a STOP sign.


British students always wear their school uniforms.


This is a timetable of the school subjects in elementary school. Every day students have four subjects: Maths, History, English, Music, Physical Education. School Day always starts with registration, at 8:50.


At 9:15 it’s the assembly. Students gather in the school theatre and sing a religious song, the hymn.


At half past ten students have a break and play in the playground. They play football in the football court‌.


‌.. or they play games with their friends.


There is a big garden with flowers and trees in British schools and students sometimes read books and talk to each other or simply have a rest at breaktime.


The first class starts at 8:50. There are big desks, whiteboards noteboards and bookcases in the classrooms.

It’s 12:15 and it’s lunch time. Students eat together in the school canteen.


School ends at 3:15 and students return home.
