Senior Project Officer - Fisheries

SALARY RANGE $83,311 - $95,698

LOCATION – THURSDAY ISLAND

Plus 15.4% superannuation, district allowance, housing subsidy, and leave fare allowance (payable after 12 months’ service).

This role is ongoing/non-ongoing and is only opened to Torres Strait Island or Aboriginal candidates under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975

TSRA is seeking a Senior Project Officer for our Fisheries Program. The Fisheries Program works to achieve its outcomes through engaging in the Protected Zone Joint Authority (PZJA) and supporting engagement of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people in the formulation of advice and decision making process in the PZJA.

The Fisheries Program provides opportunities to develop the capability and capacity of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people to benefit from commercial fisheries in the region. It also assists communities to engage in Fisheries Programme activities and manages access to fisheries resources held by the TSRA on behalf of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people of the region.
