Tommy Ward officiating. Mr. Pitts passed away September 17, 2009. He was a native of Lincoln County and the son of the late George L. Pitts, Jr. and Grace Sumner Pitts, who survives. He was the VP of accounting, secretary/treasurer and director for Cagles, Inc., and was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Phyllis Obermier Pitts of Austell, GA; daughter, Julie P. Schlageter and husband, Jay of Greenwood, SC; son, George Lofton Pitts, IV and wife, Laurie of Register, GA; sister, Bridget P. Jaffee and husband, Edwin of Memphis; grandchildren, John Cullen Schlageter, Logan Pitts Schlageter, George Buckley Schlageter, George Lofton (Quinn) Pitts V, Hattie Lauren Grace Pitts, Linden Gable Pitts, and Garner Levi Pitts, nieces and nephews-Rob Jaffe, Catie Jeffe, Boone S.
