OUTMATCHED
day 26
No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord. —Isaiah 54:17 NLT We should have known as soon as we walked into the gym and saw the plethora of banners hanging from the ceiling
So even if we’re way down at halftime, let’s wipe the sweat
touting the past several years’ basketball seasons; League
off our brows, take a drink of water, and ask God to come in
Champs, City Champs, Undefeated. If that didn’t do it, it
and play for us. He’s an All-Star, and has never been and
was apparent just a couple of minutes into the game. The
never will be outmatched. With God as the captain of our
other team was taller, faster, and better at shooting. The
team, how could we lose?
halftime score was 0-26. Ouch. It wasn’t that our guys weren’t trying. They were working so hard. They were simply outmatched.
Sometimes life feels this way. Like we’re not tall enough, fast enough, or good enough to succeed. When we’re exhausted from giving it our all, God is there. He sees us. He’s on our side. And God is the strongest, fastest, best shooter around. With Him on our team, it’s our enemies—the spiteful remarks toward us, the demeaning comments we’ve internalized, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, debt, stress, etc. that are outmatched. God tells us no weapon being used against us will succeed!
