4 SAFETY TIPS FOR SHARING ROAD WITH TRUCK & TRACTOR TRAILER

KEEP A SAFE FOLLOWING DISTANCE:
Large trucks and tractor trailers require more time and distance to stop than passenger vehicles. It's important to maintain a safe following distance to give yourself enough time to react in case the truck in front of you suddenly brakes or stops.

AVOID BLIND SPOTS:
Trucks and tractor trailers have larger blind spots than passenger vehicles Avoid driving in their blind spots, which are typically located directly behind the truck, in front of the cab, and on the sides of the trailer If you can't see the driver in the truck's mirrors, the driver can't see you

USE TURN SIGNALS:
Always use your turn signals when changing lanes or merging in front of a truck or tractor trailer Make sure you're far enough ahead of the truck before merging, as trucks have a longer length and may require more space to maneuver
PASS WITH CAUTION:
If you need to pass a truck or tractor trailer, make sure you have plenty of space and visibility to do so safely Pass quickly and don't linger in the truck's blind spot Once you've passed, give the truck plenty of space before merging back into your lane
