“Other communities have the same amount of people and resources, but they just don’t have what Troy has to offer. Troy is unique with access to so many amenities and it is well-positioned for growth. It’s got it all, and the people I work with really make the difference. They work nonstop to make sure the community has what it needs.”

TROY HISTORICAL LANDMARKS

THE MAJESTIC MIAMI COUNTY COURTHOUSE, built in 1888, houses the Miami County Municipal Court. It features ornate Beaux Arts style architecture with a limestone exterior. It is topped by a statue of Lady Justice and includes four clock faces that can be seen from all directions on its dome. The courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

THE PUBLIC SQUARE AND PROUTY PLAZA are considered the centerpiece of downtown Troy. Originally designed in 1807, it features handsome Victorian-age buildings, many of which are listed on the National Register of Historical Places. The architectural charm is enhanced by a high-curbed central garden complete with a large fountain and seasonal plantings. Prouty Plaza provides the backdrop for many concerts and community activities throughout the year.

“The Troy Fire Department is different than other departments I’ve worked for. We’re a very tight-knit group. There’s a real sense of family here and our relationship with police and city workers is great. The support and gratitude we get from the community is amazing, too. They are thankful for what we do, and they take the time to let us know.”
