Prior to his stint at the College of Charleston, Stroud spent three and a half years as Associate Athletic Director at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was responsible for all fundraising and revenues as well as marketing, media relations and sport oversight. He created their annual and major giving campaigns and was a part of the team that secured a $5 Million stadium-naming gift. Stroud also helped secure funds for the refurbishing of the existing basketball and volleyball practice facilities. Overall, Stroud increased the annual giving by over 250 percent and increased donor participation by over 350 percent. He created and launched the Former Student-Athlete Association to better reconnect with former UMKC student-athletes. In addition to playing a part in UMKC’s NCAA certification process and overseeing the external staff, Stroud also oversaw the sports information department (2007-10) and men’s and women’s golf programs. Prior to his appointment in Kansas City, Stroud directed the annual giving program at the University of Memphis while serving as Assistant Director of Athletics. While he was at Memphis, the annual fund experienced tremendous growth in both dollars and donors due in large part to a focus on building enhanced personal relationships with supporters. Stroud also served as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving at the University of Miami (Fla.), prior to the Hurricanes’ move from the BIG EAST to the ACC. A native of Marietta, Ga., Stroud earned a business degree from the University of Georgia in 2000 and completed his master’s degree in sports administration from St. Thomas University in 2001.
