Setting the Chain Oiler in the Trout River Truck Box

Page 1

Setting the Chain Oiler We recommend the conveyor chain on your Trout River live bottom be oiled daily. Some areas of the oiler system require adjustment. This page outlines these adjustments. •

A crucial component on the oiler system is the oiler brushes. o These are a wear item and must be adjusted occasionally, eventually they will need replacement Oiler brushes are adjusted by loosening the lock bolts (Figure 1), and sliding up or down by hand o Oiler brushes must be kept in contact with the chain Oiler flow must be adjusted according to the truck it is hooked to. All hydraulic systems run differently To adjust oiler flow: o Turn on conveyor o Turn on oiler o loosen lock nut on the oiler throttle valve adjustment knob (Figure 2) o turn adjustment knob until oil flow is sufficient o Oil should not run off the chain, but should soak it good o Repeat for opposite side (1 throttle valve per side, pictured in Figure 2) o Run until chain is sufficiently oiled all the way around (both strands of chain) o Shut off oiler when finished o Check hydraulic reservoir and replace what was taken away
