There were many aspects of normal life that this year’s lockdown made us miss, but when the world is in chaos it’s usually the absence of the little things that we feel most. Hugging our loved ones, going for dinner with friends, being able to go for a walk because we feel like it - or whatever it is that normally grounds us and brings us joy - we all ached for these small moments when they weren’t possible. The way that something small can hold such value has actually been at the heart of Tropic since I started the brand when I was 15, selling homemade products I'd poured into jam jars on London's market stalls. I loved seeing my customers’ faces light up when they tried a new product for the first time, especially around the festive period when they were shopping for loved ones. It's the reason why many of the gift collections in this guide are a nod to my market days, with each product designed to bring you or your loved one the little moments of joy we missed so much this year.
