Etter Dogme 95 - hva nå?
Norsk filmkritikerlag arrangerer også i år et åpent seminar i samarbeid med Tromsø-festivalen, etter fjorårets vellykkede seminar om "den ubehagelige filmen".
Denne gangen er det det sagnomsuste dogmeprosjektet vi vil ta for oss, i et forsøk på å gjøre opp status for denne originale og svært vellykkede programerklæringen på filmens vegne. For ikke siden den fordums "Nye bølgen" innen fransk film, har vel en ny trend innen den europeiske filmen maktet å sette fokus på filmmediet som uttrykksform, og samtidig engasjere et stort publikum.
Vi vil belyse prosjektet fra vidt forskjellige synsvinkler, og blant annet spørre oss hva Dogme 95 har oppnådd rent kunstnerisk, hvilke konsekvenser det har hatt for utviklingen innen digital filmskaping, og hva dogme-regissørenes proffe håndtering av mediene har hatt å si for filmenes suksess.
Med oss som foredragsholdere har vi blant annet fått Femke Wollting, programsjef for det banebrytende sideprogrammet Exploding Cinema i Rotterdam Film Festival.
After Dogma 95 - now what?
The Norwegian association of Film Critics, together with Tromsø International Film Festival, are proud to announce our annual open seminar, which will take place during the tenth anniversary of the world's northernmost film festival. After the big success with last year's seminar (on the recent focus on "unpleasant" themes in european cinema), we are this year going to focus on the effect of the so called dogma-films, from quite different perspectives. Our main object is to focus on the legacy of the Dogma-project, so far, what the main consequences of the films are, both as artistic merits and as a media-savvy phenomenon.
Another angle we would like to explore with the seminar is the effect the films have had as items of digital filmmaking: Is the format essential to the films, or is it a new focus on simple storytelling and the freedom of the actors that best describes these films.
As speakers we have invited several people with intimate knowledge and strong opinions about the subject, among others Femke Wollting, the director of the Exploding Cinema section in Rotterdam Film Festival.
