College Board Administration

NEW CHAIRMAN I am delighted to announce formally that Mr Wayne Bowen, a past pupil of Trinity College and a past parent (son Matthew 2007), has accepted the role of Chair of Trinity College Board. On behalf of the Board, leadership team, and the school community I wish Wayne all the very best in this new position. I know from experience that he will be empowered by the level of support, friendship and acknowledgement, and I am confident that under Wayne’s leadership the College Board and the community will move forward with great enthusiasm and continued success.

10 years. I have enjoyed my role as Board member and Chair and will treasure the friendships formed and the experience gained from such an opportunity.

Finally I would like to thank all members of the Board who have shared the Board table with me over the past

Mrs Leanne O’Dea Board Chair 2007

Trinity College will remain close to my heart and I will leave with a sense of sadness but also of pride at being a small part of an amazing, vibrant and inclusive community. I know that what makes Trinity College the remarkable school that it is will continue to grow and flourish. Thank you.

Annual 2007 PSA Sport Photograph 2007 has been an amazing year for Trinity College. Although there have been many significant achievements in all areas during the year, special mention must be made of our success in the PSA sporting arena. This year has been our most successful year ever, winning eight trophies out of a possible fifteen and giving the strongest all-round performance by an individual school in the history of the PSA competition. This is certainly a year to remember and to that end a photograph of successful Trinity Summer and Winter PSA Sport Teams with trophies was taken to commemorate this historic event. So that you can share this historic moment a special fold-out photograph featuring the Summer and Winter PSA Sport Teams is included in the back of this Annual.

Strive Manfully Another ‘first” for Trinity College was the publishing of the book Strive Manfully A History of CBC Perth and Trinity College 1894 – 2003. The College Board had commissioned Trinity College’s first lay Principal, Tony Curtis (1994 – 2003), to write the history of CBC Perth and Trinity College. This is a task he has been engaged in since his retirement. After three years of intensive research and writing, the book was launched at a Champagne Sundowner in Gibney Hall on Sunday 16 September 2007. Bidding in the Auction was keen between the 200 invited guests for five limited edition copies of Strive Manfully. During the official ceremony Br Tony Kelly (the first Principal of Trinity College) presented the first book printed to Leanne O’Dea. This leather

bound edition is numbered in gold and signed by the first five Principals of Trinity and will be kept in the Trinity archives as a record of this momentous occasion. Strive Manfully is a fascinating walk through the rich tapestry forming the heritage of Trinity College. In honor of this symbolic event the cover of the 2007 Annual mirrors the cover of Strive Manfully. The montage of photographs is a unique blend of old and new, symbolic of the ever present influence of our heritage in current life at Trinity College. Copies of Strive Manfully can be ordered through the Trinity Online Store at www.trinity. wa.edu.au/community/online store/merchandise.

Weekly Newsletter The introduction of the electronic Newsletter has been an outstanding success. Many parents have commented that they enjoy receiving the Newsletter this way especially with the added benefit of being able to receive it at multiple e-mail addresses. It is certainly proving to be a quick and cost efficient way of distributing the Weekly Newsletter. Please help us to keep your details up-to-date by sending any change of address details to doick.sandra@trinity.wa.edu.au. I would like to thank all Trinity staff and parents for their outstanding support during the year and look forward to more advances in communication in 2008. Ms Sandra Doick Community Relations
