Volleyball T
his year Trinity Volleyball began its baptism into the PSA with five extremely strong and determined sides ready to contest for top honours in volleyball. The middle school teams, made up mainly of year eights but with strong leadership from year nine veterans, Sam Bandy and Ben Gooch, quickly became a force to be reckoned with. Both teams started from scratch with minimal skills but with some hard training sessions they turned from social players into a fiercely competitive machine. Well done to both our middle school teams who finished third overall. Special thanks must go to Mr Mahendra Viswani who made his coaching debut and managed to notch up a few wins this season. This year Trinity College fielded three senior teams in the PSA competition. Making his coaching debut, former student and state representative Andrew Ricciardi took the thirds to some well deserved victories. Captained by Joel Bisschops, the thirds were consistent in their approach to volleyball with some excellent wins and very narrow losses for the season.
Our seconds coached by Mr Gianni Ricciardi, dominated their league. The seconds were made up of some very talented year tens combined with a few experienced year twelves. Captained by Tomas Filipeck they showed great determination, recording only one loss for the season.
Summer Sport
The firsts, coached by Mr Bobby Emmanuel, proved themselves to be an experienced bunch of players. Throughout the season all senior teams improved their volleyball skills culminating in an overwhelming display of gamesmanship in the last game against Hale School. Captained by William Brock, the firsts finished second in a very tough field. Well done to all players who trained hard and showed the highest level of sportsmanship at their fixtures. Thanks also to all the coaches as well as parents and friends who supported Trinity over the season. Look out for Trinity Volleyball in the future. Bobby Emmanuel Senior Coach
