Volleyball

T

Once again we entered the State Schools Cup and brought four teams from Years 9 to 12 to compete against the states best volleyballers. Our Year 11 team finished with a silver medal for their fine efforts. All teams competed well with many games being lost by the barest of margins. In conclusion there are too many great moments to mention individually, however each player will remember a special moment of on court magic that brought them closer to victory during the year. Special mention must go to Mr Gianni Ricciardi who coached with great enthusiasm and skill. Thanks to all players who turned up to training and games. Well done boys, look forward to more volleyball next year.

his year saw the successful inclusion of Years 8 & 9 into the PSA volleyball programme. Trinity has always been well represented at the senior level but with our new junior recruits, volleyball has never been stronger. The junior teams played well over the season, improving constantly and remained strong contenders over the season. Both the Senior A team and B team had an outstanding first round, being undefeated until the last game against Aquinas College who were also undefeated to that point. However fate would not smile on us this day as both teams lost narrowly. Trinity student Jason Den Ridder made the state team this year and travelled to Sydney to compete against the other states in the National Under 17 Volleyball Tournament. Western Australia finished fourth in a massive showdown for the bronze medal.
