[ENBUSCADEL@S] Volviendo a lo
musical, Ustedes tienen en estilo propio, pero a su vez todos los temas son bien distintos, ¿cómo logran esa diversidad musical?, y también, ¿cómo es que logran trabajar con muchos otros artistas para lograr ese efecto?
[LAIKO] Lo monotonía mata a cu-

Afortunadamente también en este camino pudimos hacer amistad con grandes compañeros de otros géneros que transmiten el mismo mensaje, como son los casos de Georgina Tritón, Mario Caudillo, Jair Aguilar y el conjunto Jarocho Mono Blanco. Speaking of names, would you tell us where does your name Laiko el Nigromante come from?
[LAIKO] Laiko is due to a lay per-
son who is free from religion. The Nigromante (Necromancer) comes from mythology, someone who performed black magic and made contact with the dead to predict the future. Mexico had many of these characters especially in the Colonial times. But that´s not the reason I chose Nigromante, but because in the time of the reform of Benito Juarez, by 1952, there was a poet called Ignacio Ramirez who signed his articles his articles with the pseudonym “El Nigromante”. I like very much the work of Ignacio Ramirez, so I decided to take that name. It is also a person who had a left-wing ideology, as a matter of fact, the first free textbooks were his idea.

the musical, you have a unique style, but at the same time all the songs are very different. How do you achieve that musical diversity? And also, how do you manage to work with many other artists to achieve that effect?
[LAIKO] Monotony kills anything. If
we fall in the game of doing the same all the time, we will end bored. Fortunately we could also make great friends from other genres colleagues that send the same message, such as Georgina Triton, Mario Caudillo, Jair Aguilar and the band Jarocho Mono Blanco. Some of them are artists with humble stories, emerging like us, wanting to convey militancy and commitment. Mono Blanco’s case is different, because they are recognized as Jarochan music artists.
