BEAUTY HACKS
Apply lemon juice to counteract itchiness No need to worry with hydrocortisone cream or ugly calamine lotion the next time you get an itchy rash. Just pour some straight lemon juice on a cotton ball and apply to the area. It will sooth the itchiness quickly.
FIVE WAYS TO USE
LEMONS IN YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE
Use lemon juice's natural bleaching action to create blonde highlights Mix ¼ cup lemon juice with ¾ cup water to make a rinse for your hair. Apply the mixture to your whole head or spray in sections. Then go soak up the sun while your hair dries. It's a subtle way to lighten your hair so you may need to do it more than once to achieve your desired coloring. Be sure to wash the lemon juice out afterward to avoid drying out hair.
Lighten and strengthen your nails Mix a tad of lemon juice with a little olive oil and massage into nail bed and cuticle area. Let it sit for a few minutes and then wash it off. You could also mix lemon juice into warm water and soak your fingers for a few minutes. Either way works. It will clean your nails while strengthening them too. 40 | triangle style
Combat blackheads with a lemon facial Rub a freshly cut lemon across your acne prone areas and wait a few minutes. Then rinse with cool water. The alpha hydroxyl acid in lemons helps to unclog pores and exfoliate the skin.
Use it to fade freckles and age spots Put some lemon juice on your undesired markings and allow it to sit for about fifteen minutes. Then just rinse it off. Lemon juice works rather well as a skin lightener. Plus, it's safe and a lot less than anything else. Just don't go out into the sun immediately afterward.
