Delivering the Strategy
It is pertinent to recognise the successes of previous strategies. Partners and stakeholders have worked together to establish a detailed understanding of the sport and physical activity landscape, and with this knowledge created a thriving community hub to meet local needs. The sporting facilities available at New College Leicester provide a social and physical environment to start and sustain active lifestyle habits. With a thriving sports club and coach infrastructure, our students have access to a pathway of success in sports like Gymnastics, Trampolining and Boxing.
This strategy is designed to shape the direction of travel for effective delivery of sport and physical activity post Covid19, with the desired goal to recover physical activity levels and community cohesion. We seek to fnd new innovative ways to reach members of the community with much to gain from increased activity. We will align with Leicestershire and Rutland Sport’s strategic direction to ensure such interventions are effective. We will continue to work with a network of leaders in sport and physical education to create a highly skilled workforce that can become outward facing, ensuring the wider community of sports clubs, schools and social enterprises can improve their provision.
