Castello Dal Pozzo is a historic property consisting of 3 buildings near the shores of Lake Maggiore. It offers an outdoor pool with sun terrace and luxurious rooms featuring antique decor combined with modern comforts. Rooms and suites can either be in the Palazzo building, in the restored stable or in the original castle, they feature original furnishings, decorative walls, and spacious marble bathrooms.

Castello Dal Pozzo has a thousand-year history dating from the 10th Century. The last of the Visconti d’Aragona, Marquis Alberto, was involved in the nascent struggle for Italian independence from under the dominion of the Hapsburg Empire, known as the “moti carbonari”. Castello Dal Pozzo, once a nobleman’s residence, is surrounded by parkland and green lawns. It is made up of the original castle, restored stables and an 18th-century building.

The Palazzo was a refuge and home for many local families with the succession of the World Wars. Subsequently, when Oleggio Castello, detached from Paruzzaro became an independent municipality, the Palace, by the concession of the family, was the seat of the Municipal School of Oleggio Castello and was later abandoned. In recent years it was renovated and meticulously transformed into a magnificent Luxury Boutique Hotel, intended to protect the small and quiet town of Oleggio Castello on the most sought-after international scenario.

The entire property belongs to the Dal Pozzo d’Annone family and is still the seat of the family. Popular with European aristocrats in the nineteenth century, Lake Maggiore has never lost its romantic charm.

The style of Castello Dal Pozzo reflects the elegance of the Gothic Revival, immersing its guests in a timeless era where the chromatic scale of the shades of blue of the lake and of the sky overhead mingles with the luxuriant shades of the surrounding nature. Hospitality, something on which the family has always prided itself, is nowadays reinterpreted in a modern way in order to ensure that today’s millennium travelers enjoy an unrivaled experience whilst staying at the resort.

The Castle was rebuilt as a residential building and it is surrounded by a majestic park, next to it stands the eighteenth-century palace.

The properties of the Visconti, who became Aragon in 1426 by concession of King Ferdinando of Naples, passed to his sister Virginia, wife of Bonifazio dal Pozzo d’Annone, of Piedmontese origin, of Rovereto, later renamed Alessandria in honor of Rolando Bandinelli, Pope Alexander III in 1167. - in - law and follower of the Augustus Pugin school, was commissioned to redesign and restructure the structure, transforming it into a Gothic - Revival style castle. Next to it stands the eighteenth-century palace where Alberto Visconti d’Aragona lived until his death after being pardoned. Died in 1895, he is buried, together with his wife Donna Luigia, of the Marquis of Monticelli Obizzi, in the cemetery of Oleggio Castello.
