NORTH AMERICA GUESTS TO ENJOY WINE HARVEST AND CAMPFIRE UNDER THE STARS AT EL CAPITAN CANYON

El Capitan Canyon on California’s central coast has three packages valid until November 25 this year. Canyon to Wine Country Adventure, El Capitan Canyon’s popular fall package, includes a two-night stay in a Creekside King Cabin with a gas fireplace and soaking tub. Guests receive a wine tote with two tasting passes for either the Santa Barbara Winery or the Lafond vineyard tasting room on Santa Ynez hillside; a bottle of Santa Barbara wine; two signature wine glasses; and a keepsake bottle opener. Guests also get a s’mores kit and a bundle of firewood to light up a campfire. The package price is $575 per cabin, double occupancy. With the Fireside Dinner Package, guests enjoy one night in choice of cabins, a Barbecue Kit with ingredients and utensils delivered to the door and a s’mores kit for dessert. Menu options range from marinated seafood and pork chops to simpler fare like chicken and hamburgers with sides. This package is $265 per cabin double occupancy for the Creekside Queen Cabin and dinner for two; rates for other cabins and groups of four are available. For rejuvenation, the Canyon offers the Relax & Renew package with two nights in a Creekside Cabin and two aromatherapy massages at the Creekside Canyon Spa. Guests also receive a bottle of Happy Camper wine and two signature wine glasses. Package cost is $645 per cabin double occupancy. All three packages are offered Sunday through Thursday through November 25, 2009, subject to availability and exclude holidays (taxes and gratuity not included). The Canyon’s amenities include a solar-heated swimming pool and the Canyon Market & Deli. There’s biking through the Canyon on complimentary bikes, hiking and off-site day trips—horseback riding, golfing, ocean kayaking, monarch butterfly park tours, whale watching and tours of downtown Santa Barbara. Heated tents and cabins are furnished with duvets, western-style blankets, linens and plush towels along with fire pits and picnic table. Cabins have full bathrooms and kitchenettes; many have soaking tubs and gas fireplaces. Spacious safari tents feature electric lighting, screened windows and doors with zip-down flaps. Convenient, modern bathroom and shower facilities are located in nearby structures. El Capitan Canyon, 866-352-2729, www.elcapitancanyon.com 14 • OCTOBER 2009

EXPLORE ARIZONA TOURS ADDS NEW TOURS DEPARTING FROM LAS VEGAS TO THE GRAND CANYON After constant requests for tours originating in Las Vegas, Explore Arizona Tours has added new tours to fill the demand. There are several intriguing options from which to choose, like Grand Canyon helicopter tours landing in the Canyon, Grand Canyon bus tours from Las Vegas, and sunset tours. While the most popular destination in Arizona is the Grand Canyon South Rim, the Grand Canyon Skywalk has given a competitive edge to the West Rim. In addition to having a 30-milliondollar creation floating over the Grand Canyon, the West Rim is much closer to Las Vegas than the South Rim. People can fly over the area and be back to their hotel in less than three hours. While the Glass Skywalk is an amazing site, ExploreArizonaTours.com’s most requested tour leaving Las Vegas is the Colorado River Rafting and Helicopter Tour from Vegas. With this tour, vacationers experience the Grand Canyon in the two most impressive ways: from the air and by traveling through it on the Colorado River. Explore Arizona Tours nooks tours online across the state of Arizona. Working with dozens of tour operators, the company has a catalog consisting of over 150 tours, all of which can be reserved online through a quick, secure booking system.
