MARIANNE’S CONDENSED MILK RUSKS

Ingredients:

1.5 kg self-raising flour

250 ml sugar

10 ml salt

15 ml aniseed

250 g butter

1 x 397 g tin of condensed milk

375 –500 ml of water

Method:

• Sieve all the dry ingredients together.

• Add the aniseed and mix.

• Rub butter into dry mix until crumbly.

• Add the water and condensed milk gradually and mix to form a stiff dough.

• Roll into balls and put in greased bread pans.

• Bake at 180°C for 1 hour.

• Remove from the oven and let cool.

• Break or cut into rusks.

• Dry out in a lukewarm oven overnight
