AMANZOE

WHERE TIME STANDS STILL With a short helicopter flight from Athens to Amanzoe, you will discover a place of pure nature, where time stands still. Scattered with Unesco ruins, the undiscovered Peloponnese has been at the heart of Greek culture for millennia - and it is here that Amanzoe has made its hilltop home, a modern-day Acropolis from which 360-degree views encompass olive groves, Aegean blue, and little else. Designed to meld with the land, suites, and villas with pools belie a remarkable sense of space, opening to gardens or the beach, where speedboats lie waiting to zip between secret coves and the nearby islands of Spetses and Hydra. Drawing on classic Greek architecture, with strong lines and a pared-back aesthetic, Amanzoe’s luxury Pavilions all open onto terraces with private plunge pools and views of the surrounding land and sea. Each Pavilion is accessed via a stone-walled courtyard, leading to a high-ceilinged living area and king-size bed positioned in a marble alcove with views over the Porto Heli vista. Undulating olive groves also surrounds Amanzoe, and the resort overlooks the turquoise Aegean Sea, which is a ten-minute drive from the tavernas and cosmopolitan stirrings of Porto Heli, Greece. The isles of Spetses and Hydra are nearby, as are countless ancient ruins, from millennia-old amphitheaters to Byzantine monasteries.

LILY OF THE VALLEY

All Images Courtesy of: Lilly of the Valley

RELAX IN THE HEART OF THE FRENCH RIVIERA A few steps away from Saint-Tropez, Lily of the Valley takes up residence in the preserved landscape of the Cap Lardier estate. A protected area, this well-kept secret is the green lung of the Côte d’Azur. It melds with Gigaro’s 5km of fine sand, a discreet beach remaining untouched, which is among the largest in the region. The unique setting of Lily of the Valley is a stone throw away from the exhilaration of Saint-Tropez: the lively beaches of Pampelonne and the sunlit terrace of Sénéquier are only a few minutes away. Lily of the Valley embodies the charm of Provence with its riches and its proximity to the mythical cities of the French Riviera: Nice, Cannes, and Monaco. Lily of the Valley is a hotel that does not impinge upon nature but instead adapts to it. Inspired simultaneously by Babylon’s hanging gardens, the architecture of Provençal abbeys, and the design of Californian villas, Philippe Starck has designed forty-four rooms and suites that combine comfort, culture, and generosity. Each key gives access to a 37 to a 115m2 space, always extended by a large private terrace. Within the park’s luxuriant vegetation, nature reasserts itself over stone buildings that seem to have been there forever. Raw yet luxurious, the materials intertwine: polished marble complements solid wood, raw concrete blends with natural leather. Yet Lily of the Valley is at the same time, constantly and eminently modern. Steeped in the natural refinement of the French Riviera, its fantasy, its taste for lightness, its culture, and its elegance. Lily of the Valley is the promise of a homecoming devoid of nostalgia.
