A Message from the Greens Superintendent
Adam Mis
The summer is here and the golf course is busy. The contractor is moved from mainline installation to greens and then the fairways and tees. This will be a little more disruptive in the fact we need to close a hole while they are doing the installation. They are doing great work and looking forward to getting rid of the old and in with the new. During the process, we were still fixing and repairing the old system to keep it going until we can switch over.

You have probably noticed the auto mowers roaming around the clubhouse. We are currently using the mowers to see if they can provide the same quality and performance as our current mowers and if so we will look to start replacing some of our current mowing equipment. If they meet our expectations, the return on investment is very quick, especially rising costs. They have spinning razor blades that cut the turf on a regular basis and clippings just fall into the turf canopy. If you see them out there, please avoid and don’t try to pick them up. They don’t like to be messed with and they also have an alarm that notifies us.

We have been moving soil to some of our new tee locations so that the irrigation system can be installed to water those areas correctly. We will be working on getting them completed and into service throughout the season. We have just finished #12 forward tee and hope to be in action soon.
Our staff is very happy with the restoration of TVCC over the last few years. Which has been a lot of work, but fruits of our labor are definitely showing. The club is getting praise from all over western NY. We hope to continue to keep improving and make TVCC the best choice for private club membership in Western New York.
