Based on the event itself and member feedback, I am very pleased to announce that the first TVCC Town Hall meeting held on June 7 was deemed a highly-rated success.

More than 70 members attended in person while another 20+ people attended online – the first of our many meeting offerings in which that opportunity will be provided. Because of this success, we will be offering another Town Hall in the Fall so that we may receive your thoughts and comments for how we can improve our operations for 2024.

Also, I want to continue to emphasize that my team and I are always available to listen to your feedback and make positive changes for the greater good where we can. In the meantime, I am addressing each of the issues raised in the meeting and will report back on the progress we are making.

Welcome Newest Team Member

I am pleased to announce that we have filled a very important role here at Transit Valley with Brandon Sterner coming on board as our new Director of Food and Beverage. His day-to-day responsibilities will include the oversight of the kitchen and bar operations, cost control measures, and the training of all staff members. Brandon comes to us from the Hyatt Regency downtown where he oversaw the food and beverage operations. I look forward to recognizing Brandon’s impact on our service levels and particularly our overall food and beverage operational challenges.

A Very Busy Transit Valley Summer

It is hard to believe that we are already in the throes of summer here at TVCC.

First, I want to thank my managers – Matt Thormahlen, Joe Wilkie and Angela Staszak for doing such a great job of organizing our summer recreation, pool and Kids’ Club programs. I am happy to report that the camps are at record participation levels this year and judging by the happy faces we see, they are doing very well. Participation rates have grown by double digits in nearly every category for these summer programs and I look forward to delivering the final results upon their conclusion.

Our People Really Count

As the General Manager and COO of Transit Valley Country Club, I take great pride in building the best team possible for the specific areas of our operation. With that task comes great challenges. Thus, I politely ask your patience as the new waitstaff team gets acclimated and many of the new hires begin to understand the culture that we have and are cultivating here at TVCC.

I also am very aware of the needs of our members. Each day, our managers work with our employees to provide them with the best training necessary to enhance your Club experience.

Furthermore, I have ensured we are investing in the tools necessary for our managers to optimize their operations. These tools include up-to-date hardware and software platforms as well as training and education for their professional growth.

The challenges of a seasonal business, as well as current labor market trends, make it difficult to retain a younger base of employees for the longer term. That’s why we are constantly working with our staff members and supporting them in their roles of delivering quality guest services to our TVCC family.

Enjoy the Summer of 2023!
