The world is her oyster and she shares her exciting experiences with our readers on a monthly basis. Covid-19 has also changed the landscape of this industry forever. Her first entry tells of her journey home amid COVID-19.

Over the past two weeks we had to endure the bitter cold and snow off the Norwegian coast – a rude awakening after spending many days and hours on the sun-drenched beaches of destinations such as Barbados and Antigua, to name but two. Since the pandemic hit, we had not been allowed to disembark, and crossed the Atlantic Ocean to Europe, in search of a port that would have us. The crossing took 11 days during which time we did not see any land, nor encountered any other sea traffic. For days we had no communication with the outside world at all. It felt surreal – it’s a feeling of complete isolation that is difficult to put into words! When we finally did see land, the excitement was short-lived, as we knew that it did not mean the end of our ordeal.
