There is magic all around if you just know where to look. The Southern Sky suddenly seems so much bigger stretched over the endless expanse of Australia’s Red Centre. Your favourite shiraz tastes even better when sipped at the vineyard in Barossa where the grapes were pressed. Your whole perspective has changed now that you’ve seen the world from the top of a glacier. The magic of Australia and New Zealand is all around you, but we want to show it to you in a way you’ve never seen before. To enable you to experience all the wonders of the untouched wilderness, epic landscapes and cosmopolitan cities of these two great southern lands, we’ve teamed up with our sister company AAT Kings, who pioneered Australian travel back in 1912. Fusing Trafalgar’s vision and AAT’s local expertise, we’ve cra ed trips that take you beyond the well-trodden tourist trail and connect you to the true essence of Australia and New Zealand. You’ll shake the hands that shear the sheep and taste the best homemade Pavlova on the island. You’ll wake to the sight of wallabies and fall asleep to the sounds of the Tasman Sea. You’ll see familiar places in a whole new light and discover wonders you never knew existed, making a di erence in the places you visit, while enjoying a holiday experience that you’ll never forget. Real Connections. Real Ease. Real Joy. Every Single Day.

You’ll gain an all new perspective of the lands you thought you knew so well, hearing the stories that helped shape these two young nations. Through our Be My Guest experiences, you’ll get a chance to sit down and share a meal with the people that live in each destination. This is your chance to ask the questions you’ve always wanted to know and hear the other stories that form the fabric of your society. You’ll discover how di erent life can be even when distances aren’t that great, while at the same time realising that you have more in common than you might have thought.

DELMA COULSON

TASMANIAN TRAVEL DIRECTOR

Our Travel Directors and Local Specialists are your experts on the ground, there to lead you off he beaten path to reveal the Hidden Gems that truly bring a destination to life. They aren’t on your bucket list, but they just might become one of the highlights of your trip. We can’t tell you exactly what they are, that would ruin the moment. But here’s a little sneak peek from one of our Travel Directors to give you just a taste of what they know.

To see which must-see sights are waiting for you, look for The Icons on the trip pages.

The oldest culture in the world is brought to life through our connections to the people who know it best, the vivid storytellers, our Aboriginal guides.

One of my favourite things is showing guests the local stall, Beauty and the Bees, at the Salamanca Market. It sells handmade beauty products from Tasmania made from leatherwood honey and pure local ingredients. They’re good for your skin, and even better, the company has saved over 1 million plastic packages from entering landfills over the past 25 years by using packaging in either glass, tin or paper. I can’t wait to show you which products are my favourites.

MAKING TRAVEL MATTER

Travel has the ability to open our eyes to the unique cultures and spellbinding beauty of the world.

the not-for-pro t TreadRight Foundation with the simple philosophy to enrich, protect and preserve the destinations we visit. Simply put, making travel matter. FOUR GENERATIONS ONE MISSION

Since our beginning as a single hotel in a small South African shing village which opened its doors in 1920, now a fourth generation family-run company, The Travel Corporation (TTC) has stayed true to its commitment to service excellence for 100 years. Our unwavering dedication is fueled by a deep-seated passion for travel, and part of this passion comes from discovering the richness, diversity and beauty of destinations like Australia and New Zealand. A er visiting these majestic countries, we were so inspired that we knew we had to share their bounties with our guests around the world. This is why some of TTC’s earliest investments were made in these southern lands, long before they became the well-visited destinations they are today. Back in 1997, we welcomed the region’s leading tour company, AAT Kings, the pioneers of coach travel in Australia into TTC. And, we continued to build our portfolio with the expertise of local brands such as Inspiring Journeys and Down Under Tours, bringing the best of the best on board to make us true destination experts. Using this combined local knowledge, a shared love of Australia and New Zealand, and a guiding ethos of “Driven By Service”, we are proud to o er you the chance to experience the real joy of travelling these young nations, forging meaningful connections that will forever etch them into your heart the way it has ours.

AUCKLAND - BAY OF ISLANDS (2 NIGHTS) Leave Auckland this morning, travelling north over the Harbour Bridge past the sprawling suburbs of the city's North Shore. Your scenic drive continues through Northland's lush farmland before arriving in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Explore the place where Māori and British culture merged in the 18th century and see the beauty that lies within a network of 144 islands which dot the bay with their beautiful golden beaches. Wake up the sound of gentle waves, a cool sea breeze and the smell of the ocean over the next few days. But for now, the soul-stirring views never end as you cruise through game-fishin waters to Cape Brett and, weather permitting, through the famous ‘Hole in the Rock' and into New Zealand's largest sea cave. Your return cruise to Paihia slices through the turquoise waters of the bay. Pass deserted beaches and secluded bays while you keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, seals and penguins which fin sanctuary in this pristine tropical setting. Stay overnight in the jewel of the Bay of Islands, renowned for its secluded bays, mild weather and warm café culture. This evening, gather with your Travel Director and travelling companions for a Welcome Reception and dinner. (WR) Hotel: Copthorne Resort (Water View Room) BAY OF ISLANDS FREE TIME Indulge in a free day to soak up the enchanting beauty of the Bay of Islands. The allure of the great outdoors and array of experiences will be impossible to resist, and you'll want to skip a leisurely start to your day and head out on your own adventure. Consider an Optional Experience on the water, whipping through the waves on board a historic tall ship where you can play Captain James Cook for the day and sail amidst the deep blue waters he once did in his ‘discovery' of New Zealand over 250 years ago. Savour the bold fla ours of the region's full-bodied reds when you embark on a memorable wine tasting tour with stunning coastal views. You could consider instead a Russell Mini Tour to learn about the area's historical signifi ance, taking a walk back in time to discover its wild ways as a noisy port town refuelling ships. Evidence of its colourful heritage can be seen in the historic buildings that remain to this day. You'll explore two centuries of what was once regarded as the “Hell Hole of the Pacific and has today emerged as an idyllic tourism hotspot – how times have changed! A er an action-packed day, you'll enjoy an evening at leisure to spend as you wish. Make the most of your stay and head to one of the restaurants along the waterfront, watching as the sun sets on yet another glorious day in New Zealand. (B)

which have towered over the forest floo for millennia. Connect with nature and learn heavy logging over the centuries has considerably reduced the numbers of trees that remain to this day. Later this a ernoon, you'll arrive in Auckland, where your memorable encounter with New Zealand's Bay of Islands comes to an end. (B)
