SICHUAN STYLE In your local cooking class we’ll introduce you to Chinese food, authentic Sichuan cuisine to be precise, which can only really be experienced in its homeland. Within the city of Chengdu we’ll take you to the Museum of Sichuan Cuisine to learn all about traditional cooking methods, which combine bold flavours quite different to the rest of the country’s practices. Using a pestle and mortar from the days of the Qing Dynasty, you’ll get to crush chillies into a fine powder, observe what an ancient kitchen looked like and view old manuscripts from over 3,000 years ago that contain the secrets to the creation of Sichuan dishes.
