THE TRADES HOUSE OF GLASGOW

Thursday 4 June - Saturday 6 June 2015 Trades Hall | 85 Glassford Street | Glasgow | G1 1UH

ABOUT THE EXHIBITION The first Craftex exhibition took place in 1995 and was was set up to showcase the very best traditional and modern craft, design and technology skills taught at Glasgow’s colleges. As it was such a success, it was agreed to expand the college base and run Craftex as an annual Trades House event. Currently, participants who study at Glasgow Clyde College, City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Kelvin College are all welcome to submit their work.

CRAFTEX EXHIBITION 2014 The 2014 Craftex Exhibition was a huge triumph for everyone involved. City College student Joseph Gray was announced the overall best in show gold medal winner for his wooden live edge table which also won the Furniture Advanced category in the awards. Helen Pickering, a Glasgow Clyde College student, won the Deacon Convener’s Design Prize for her hand crafted honey pot in gold and silver. She also won the Jewellery Allied Products Advanced category. All category winning students received their awards from The Right Honourable Henry McLeish MSP at a prizegiving ceremony in the Trades Hall.

CRAFTEX EXHIBITION 2015 This years exhibition will take place over three days with the Awards Ceremony taking place on 5th June. There will be some exciting new features in 2015 including live music during the exhibition from participating musical students and a small exhibit from The Re-tune Project. Some of the exhibits will be available to purchase, so look out for business cards beside displays. We are pleased to announce that The Right Honourable Henry McLeish MSP will be joining us again to present the awards to category winners. For further information and to participate contact:
