2023 Department Goals

Stratified Policing: Stratified Policing is an organizational problem-solving, analysis, and accountability model supported by evidence-based practices. It seeks to facilitate organizational transformation within police departments to reduce crime and increase public safety. We will use stratified policing to focus on our 2023 identified priorities: motor vehicle theft, retail theft and drug offenses.

Expansion of the Community Response Team: Adding a second unit to the Community Response Team will give the department a dedicated mental health team seven days a week.

Expansion of the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program: Add a seventh SRO to increase safety and relationship building in Parker schools.

Staffing Increase: Increase the number of sworn officers from 77 to 81.

Crime Scene Investigation Accreditation: Undergo ANAB ISO 1725 accreditation assessment for the Evidence Section.

Expansion of the Drone Program: Add a third drone to the fleet and train additional pilots.

Leadership Training: All managers attend leadership training.

Traffic Team: Reactivating our traffic team will allow us to respond to Parker residents’ requests for increased traffic enforcement.

Update Evidence Section SOP Manual: To standardize unit performance, update and modernize the Evidence Section SOP Manual.
