ChildrenS program Programs name PLAYBALL – Ball Hockey Skills

action figures, and costumes too! As the class progresses, so will you, learning how to draw animals, how to illustrate detail and about the importance of symbols in cartooning. All materials will be provided.

Comic STrip Art

(Ages 7 to 8 years) Come join us in Canada’s favourite year round sport. In this program participants will develop the skills and knowledge needed to play hockey, but indoors. Let the games begin!

NEW!

(Ages 11 to 12 years) Tap into your own creativity; think of a concept or a storyline and join us as you learn to design our own characters, add words and dialogue. Professional Cartoon Illustrator Bob Kain will lead participants through the steps necessary to get you from rough drawing to final ink creation.

LITTLE DRIBBLERS (Ages 5 to 6 years) This exciting co-ed program introduces young players to the game of basketball. Fun and fundamentals are the focus of this program. Size 5 basketballs and lowered rims are used to encourage excitement and success. At the end of the program session, each player will receive an award.

MUNSCH FOR MUNCHKINS (Ages 5 to 7 years) Laughter and applause are guaranteed when the children perform the zany Robert Munsch story, Wait and See! for parents and friends on the last class. The program, taught by theatre professionals, also features movement and theatre games, production, crafts and basic acting instructions. Costumes and all materials are included. This program runs without in-class parent participation.

PLAYBALL ”Sport Coaching for Kids” (Ages 5 to 6 years) This part of the Playball program focuses on the more demanding ball and sports skills. The foundation skills are laid for the six popular sports in which your child may want to participate: hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

Playball – NEW! Pre-Season Soccer (Ages 5 to 6 years) & (Ages 7 to 8 years) Learn and practice your skills in a fun and non-pressured way. Learn the rules, develop more confidence, learn teamwork and practice strategies like attack and defence. All lessons remain fun-filled and non-competitive. Each child’s needs are taken into consideration. This program is a great way for boys and girls of all abilities to be part of the ‘team’.

Show Biz Kids (Ages 8 to 12 years) Kids will be dropped into the world of Show Biz in this dynamic and unique program. Children will take on the roles of Agents, Casting Directors, Set Designers, Script Writers, Stage Managers, Directors and, of course Actors as they write, produce and star in their very own original production. Taught in a fun and creative atmosphere by the theatre professionals, the children will prepare for their performance of a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style play to be performed for family and friends on the last class.

Yoga for Kids (Ages 6 to 12 years) Yoga is a great form of exercise which brings out many benefits to the health and wellbeing of children. This program will follow a logical and developmental sequence combining movement and music as well as partner exercises and poses with cooperative games and breath work. Students are asked to bring socks, a sweatshirt and a yoga mat if they have one.

ZumbaToMic® (Ages 7 to 12 years) Your child will have fun while learning to dance salsa, merengue, cumbia, flamenco, quebredita, samba, mambo, rumba, calypso, salsation, reggaeton, belly dance, hip-hop and latin pop. Zumbatomic® is an exciting new way for your child to exercise and have fun while learning to dance!!

Sing with the stars (Ages 8 to 14 years) In this exciting and instructional vocal program, children will be conducted to sing in a variety of popular, contemporary and classical songs of a number of diverse music genres taught each week. The choristers’ talents and freshly honed skills will be showcased during a performance for friends and family on the last class.
