SUMMER CAMPS - REGISTRATION DATES Residents Non-Residents ONLINE & IN-PERSON April 11 April 18

TOWN OF AURORA SUMMER CAMPS Our Summer Camp programs are subject to change based on provincial guidelines and public health recommendations. The Town of Aurora reserves the right to cancel and/or amend its summer camp programs at its sole discretion at any time.

NON-RESIDENT SURCHARGE: A 20% non-resident surcharge applies to all Summer Camps programs within this guide.

INCLUSION SERVICES

INCLUSIVE MODEL β€’ The Town of Aurora welcomes and encourages residents of all abilities to have equitable and meaningful access to recreational camp opportunities. This is done through an inclusive model, where campers can attend with a trained Town Inclusion Staff or with an external support person. Town Inclusion 1:1 Support Staff are available to facilitate safe and successful participation in camp programs. β€’ When choosing a recreation experience, please consider the individual needs, and that the recreation integrated setting may not be suitable for all persons with a disability. Health & Safety of participants and staff is paramount, which could result in participants being removed from the program. This includes safety measures related to complying with COVID-19 Provincial Safety Guidelines.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR INCLUSION SUPPORT 1. Register for a Camp program that meets the needs, hobbies and interests of the participant. 2. Register for the corresponding 1:1 Inclusion Support to match the weeks of camp registration, using the codes provided in the chart. 3. E mail Chiara Walsh at cwalsh@aurora.ca to set-up an intake meeting to discuss registration, support requirements and additional intake information as it pertains to COVID-19. Note: It may be possible that due to Provincial Summer Camp Guidelines, some campers may require external support to participate in our programs. Information regarding support will be discussed in this intake meeting. 4. Complete the Participant Intake Form that can be found online at www.aurora.ca/inclusionservices. NOTES REGARDING 1:1 SUPPORT REGISTRATION β€’ Inclusion 1:1 Support is on a first come, first serve basis. If there are no more spots in the 1:1 Inclusion Support code, please place the camper on the waitlist. Note: In these cases, 1:1 support is not guaranteed unless the participant is registered in the corresponding 1:1 Support Code. β€’ Final decisions regarding support are at the discretion of FullTime staff. The Town reserves the right to determine when a staff is required based on information provided during intake and/or observations during camp. Town of Aurora will determine whether a participant’s support needs are beyond the scope of our Part-Time staff’s capabilities and training. In these situations, parents/guardians may be required to seek out an external support worker.

INCLUSION 1:1 SUPPORT STAFF – WEEKLY CODES Inclusion 1:1 Support is available for campers with disabilities whose needs are not met within large group supervision ratios and require an additional staff to be integrated into a Summer Camp program of their choice. Inclusion 1:1 Support staff can provide emotional and sensory breaks, assist with personal care (provided that it can be completed by one person) and help adapt programming to fit the needs of each individualized camper. Inclusion 1:1 Support is NOT a camp, it is a support service. Registrants must register into a camp program in addition to the 1:1 support. DATES July 4 – 8 July 11 – 15 July 18 – 22 July 25 – 29 Aug 2 – 5 Aug 8 – 12 Aug 15 – 19 Aug 22 – 26 Aug 29 – Sept 2
