Class of 1982 Bench Dedication On Saturday, September 28 at Homecoming 2013, the Class of 1982 gathered on the Alumni House terrace to dedicate “a remembrance bench” in honor of Jesse Dendy ‘82, as well as alums who have passed before and will pass after him. Jesse was a lively and beloved classmate with an infectious positive spirit and attitude. After the immediate shock of Jesse’s death, the Class of 1982 exchanged a long string of emails full of stories and lessons about Jesse and about Gretchen Hupfel ‘82, who was the first member of their class to pass. In addition to giving to cancer research in Jesse’s honor, the Class of 1982 decided to dedicate the remembrance bench to provide a place on campus for their class and others to gather, remember and celebrate the love and spirit of their classmates, teachers and friends.
